With Vidmex you can prepare a simple musical presentation and also a qualitative slide show with your favorite pictures. Several image formats are supported: JPG, TGA, BMP, GIF. It's also possible to merge several pictures with video files (AVI, MPEG, ASF, WMV etc.) and to mix all combined media with sound files (MP3, WAV, WMA, etc.)
In our example we have 5 images: FISHES.jpg, ROSE.jpg, BIRTHDAY.jpg, PARTY.jpg, ONTHEBOAT.jpg, TRAINING.jpg
We will create silent slideshow by using Vidmex Playlist features. In this slideshow, each image will be showing for 1.5 seconds.
Step 1
First of all, add your images in playlist. Click on menu: File -> Add File(s)... or press L key.
Select several files by holding shift key. Press Open. Files will appear in playlist.
Step 2
Mark all files in playlist: click menu Edit -> Select All or press Ctrl+A key.
Step 3
Now, we will set duration for each file: for example, 1.5 seconds. So, we suppose that duration of slideshow will equal: 1.5 x 5 = 7.5 seconds.
Click menu Edit -> Set Playback Range... or press R key. The window will pop up.
Set Start to: 0. Set End to 1.5 seconds. Click Apply.
Step 4
Start/End values changed. You can see that each file in playlist has the same duration now: 1.5 seconds.
Duration values showing in playlist are rounded (1 second), but the real precise duration (1.5 seconds) isn't changed. Precise duration is stored in memory. So, you can check it or change the time by using R hot key.
Step 5
Files are prepared for joining. So, click menu Operation -> Merge Video or press Shift+V hot key. Change folder, enter filename of your slideshow. Also choose: "no sound", because images do not contain music. So audio stream will be ignored. Press Next:
Step 6
If you want to maximize quality of slideshow then choose DV Video Encoder(Digital Video) or MJPEG compressor (but file size will be big). Generally, XviD is always recommended.
Also, very important: you must specify Video Dimension (so all images will be resized correspondingly) and Frame Rate (set it to 25).
Wait several seconds. Slideshow will be saved as AVI file.
