Vidmex allows to combine several video files to achieve movie-in-movie effect. For example, you can insert avi file from the beginning of the movie to present something, to place necessary information or to increase general impression. In this tutorial we will combine two files: Large video: Will Smith-Will2k.mpg with Small video: Speedis.avi (see also: how to resize video using Vidmex). Audio information from small movie will not be processed. Step 1 Load the first video file. Click Open button on main window of Vidmex. Choose video file which will be used as main video source (for example, Will Smith-Will2k.mpg). Select a fragment by using BEGIN/END buttons.
The file will show up in Vidmex Wizard. Positions of Start and Stop are presented in the upper right corner. You can freely modify values - all changes will be applied immediately. |
Step 2 Choose logo. Select the option: Choose logo on top of all extracted video fragments. Next, you must specify the second file (for example Speedis.avi) which will be used as small video on top of main video source. So, click Choose logo... button and select this file. It can be AVI, ASF, WMV, MPEG, Animated GIF or any other readable video file.
In the next presented step you need to set X and Y positions of video window. Drag and drop window by using mouse.

Step 3 Extract video. Now, press Video Fragment button. Enter filename (for example movie_in_movie), choose path where new file must be saved and click Next.
Step 4 Choose video and audio compressors. Select Windows Media Audio or MPEG Layer-3 as audio compressor.
Use XviD as video compressor.
Finally, press Next, OK and wait several minutes.
Done! The result will look like:
Hint: if you want to preserve sound from animated logo then add logo video file into Vidmex Wizard along with the main video file. Use Mix Video and Audio instead of Video Fragment. |
